Kylie's first litter
On March 1st 2015 Kylie's first litter arrived. She kept us waiting for a full week. However she produced a lovely litter of 10, 3 girls and 7 boys overnight. She had no problems and was happy to have us with her during the birth. The piglets very soon had their first visitors and Kylie was very happy to show her litter off.
Kylie is proving to be a very good mum and at 5 days all the piglets are still with us and are growing very well. They are a very content litter and are making good use of their heat lamp. They have been out for the first ime today.
Litter are 2 weeks old now and are doing really well. They are a lively lot who love going for a wander. They take any opportunity for a good feed. They are still taking advantage of their heat lamp.
Litter are now 3 weeks old and are continuing to do well. They are getting around all over the place and are real little characters.
Litter are now 4 weeks old and are really impressed with the ewes. They are still living in the stable but spend a lot of time outdoors.
Litter are now 6 weeks old and we are thinking of weaning them at the end of the week.
Kylie's litter have now gone to their new homes.
We have kept Candy and Maple as our meat pigs.
