Blue Tits Nest 2014
On March 29th I had a look at the nest box and discovered that a bird had started to build a nest.
She carried on building her nest and by April 6th was lining the nest cup with feathers
On the 12th of April there were 2 eggs
She is starting to spend more time in the nest
By April 14th there were 4 eggs.
By April 17th 7 eggs were in the nest.
April 19th and there are still only 7 eggs. The Female is spending most of her time on the eggs now. No sign of the male as yet.
April 27th. Female is still sitting. Today for the first time we saw the male feeding the female.
On May 29th the eggs started hatching. Over the next 3 days
the eggs hatched out. Mum and Dad have been very busy feeding. At the moment it looks like there is plenty of food.
The babies waited for me to come out of hospital before fledging. The oldest four fledged first. Next day the two younest left the nest. Out of the seven eggs laid 6 birds left the nest
